Our first day in the Djanet desert. We will depart by 4×4 vehicles from the town towards Tadrart. The journey begins with towering sand dunes and mountain views, which gradually decrease in height until we reach Amais, a region known for its fresh food and a place to rest. After a short “siesta”, we continue through the mountains until reaching the Tadrart Gate, where the scenery shifts from sandy mountains to sedimentary rocks with light yellow dunes.
